2023 BRISBANE TOUR
We were thrilled to re-start our touring program in July 2023 when singers from The Kelly Gang and The Vocal Consort travelled to Brisbane to participate in and perform as part of the Pemulwuy National Male Voice Festival, hosted by Voices of Birralee.
The tour was a great success, and being part of a group of 400 male singers working intensively together to sing and perform in harmony was a powerful and joyful experience for all involved. Not even a cancelled flight and sleepless final night could dampen the spirits of the touring party. Indeed, it quite possibly even added to the fun and camaraderie!
The ABCI is an environment that actively fosters and nurtures friendship, mentoring and support between boys and young men. The benefits of these factors to mental health and wellbeing are self-evident. Touring is one of the most important parts of the ABCI program, and it was great to embark upon our first tour since 2019 by participating in the festival.
