JOAN OF ARC (MELBOURNE)

Presented by Australian Boys Choral Institute

Thurday 21 October 2027 at 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne | 100 St Kilda Rd, Southbank VIC 3004

For centuries, the icon of Joan of Arc has been interpreted, reimagined and retold. This new oratorio by Mary Finsterer has a dramatic narrative which is told through narrator, soloists, two choirs and orchestra.

The composer has layered her sophisticated and contemporary orchestral style with medieval and early Baroque influences, creating a sphere of sound that is reflective of Joan’s 15th century for today’s listener.
