OUR COMMUNITY

The Australian Boys Choral Institute boasts a wonderfully friendly, welcoming community of singers and their families and friends. And it is from this talented community that we are so fortunate to be able to recruit the army of skilled volunteers who are the backbone of this unique organisation.

As a not-for-profit Arts organisation that receives no government funding and operates with a very small administrative team, we depend on our volunteers to be able to realise our mission to achieve excellence in everything we do.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

Whether it is lending a hand in the office while the boys are rehearsing or serving as a member of our Board, we encourage everyone in our community to get involved! The added bonus is that boys whose families are actively contributing to the choir community also tend to achieve more and go further on their choir journey.

There are over 15 different volunteer teams supporting the Australian Boys Choir - from the Caring Team that takes care of the boys at concerts, camps and on tour, to the Stagewear Team, Maintenance Team, Grants Team and Tour Team -  the list goes on! Whether you are able to donate your time or professional expertise, we have a team to match!

Anyone wanting to volunteer for teams that work directly with the boys (eg Caring, Concert and Uniform Teams) is required to obtain a 'Working with Children' card and complete our Child Safety Training before being eligible to be selected for that team.

Getting involved can be as simple as attending our community events, selling raffle tickets, helping at our Bunnings BBQs... or simply bringing your friends to our performances!

We'd love to welcome your helping hands to our friendly community - get in touch!
