2023 VICTORIAN TOUR
This tour was the first for our Performing Squad since 2019 and saw us realise plans to visit South Western Victoria. Locations included Hamilton, Portland, Warrnambool and Colac.
Repertoire was comprised almost entirely of works by Australian composers, including Dulcie Holland, Lyn Williams, Peggy Glanville-Hicks, Peter Sculthorpe, Colin Brumby and Stephen Leek. Two of our favourite pieces by Dan Walker framed the program, which was titled 'Songs from Here and There'.
We had a great time taking in the scenery in this part of the state, exploring the coastline and even getting to do a treetop adventure walk, zip-lining through the forest canopy.
The final stop on our itinerary was Ballarat's iconic Sovereign Hill, where we got to explore the park and give a performance in the Victoria Theatre.
Our volunteer tour caring team on this occasion was Ruth Woodgate & Kate Byrdy, ably supported by Tim Mallis as accompanist.
