10 March 2022NEW ABCI GENERAL MANAGER
As many of you will already know, our wonderful General Manager, Ms Katie Whitecross, has decided to call time on her current role with the Australian Boys Choral Institute. I was very sad when Katie announced her decision to leave this critical post late last year, as she has done an outstanding job over many years. Katie has been working in various roles in the ABCI over nearly six years; firstly as the Administrative Assistant to the then Assistant General Manager for about two and a half years, and then as General Manager. Katie stepped into the General Manager position at short notice in late 2018 at a difficult time for the ABCI, but has revolutionised the position. Katie’s passion for the Choir, her intelligence, great organising skills and welcoming demeanour have all been characteristics that have enhanced the standing of the ABCI and the General Manager job. We will all miss her very much, and wish her all the very best for her new adventures. Katie's last day is Friday 25th February. Thank you from all the Choir community for all your great work, Katie.
I am delighted to announce to the Choir community that we have appointed Ms Elizabeth Lindner as the new General Manager. Liz has been involved with the ABCI since 2010 in various volunteer roles, including as Marketing Team Leader and Social Media Manager. Additionally, Liz has been a part of the Caring Team on numerous Weekend Workshops, Summer Schools, Australian and international tours (including the amazing European Tour in 2018). Her professional background is in strategic management and in communications. We have had the benefit of these skills many times since 2010 with respect to media campaigns, website redesign, Australian Boys Choir branding, and with various other contributions, including during our 75th Anniversary celebrations in 2014. Clearly, Liz will be a great asset to the ABCI. You will find her to be friendly and helpful, but don’t forget to help her with any volunteer roles that you can assist with. Liz will be commencing a handover period next week, and will take over the role at the end of February. Welcome (back) Liz!
Take care.
