THE AUSTRALIAN BOYS CHOIR 2021 END-OF-YEAR APPEAL

After another challenging year for us all, it’s great to feel a genuine sense of optimism about the future of the ABCI as we look forward to 2022. Our singers have continued to demonstrate remarkable resilience and an eagerness to return to the stage, and if you are anything like me, I’m sure you cannot wait to hear them in concert again next year.

My son, now a member of the Kelly Gang, has had a truly amazing journey with the Institute, benefiting from the outstanding musical education and many wonderful performances, right across Australia and also overseas. As I tagged along for the ride, engaging in a myriad of opportunities as a parent volunteer, I discovered that the success of the Institute is firmly linked to the strength of the ABCI community. I am grateful to have been part of this community and was honoured to join the ABCI Board earlier this year.

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented real and sometimes existential challenges for many in the arts and entertainment industries. The Institute will not be immune from cost increases associated with presenting events and workshops that are predicted following 18 months of cancellations. With our ongoing desire to keep fees at the ABCI stable into 2022, while also continuing to provide key experiences and a level of training which is second to none, these expected additional costs mean that we will be increasingly reliant on the generosity of those who care about advancing Australia’s ‘first and finest’ secular choir for boys and young men.

I encourage you to give what you can to our End-of-Year Appeal. Your contribution, be it large or small, comes at an important time and would be a much-appreciated Christmas gift to the ABCI as we continue to support our singers on their choral journey and towards excellence.
