SPRING INTO MANGO SEASON

Whilst this year has been anything but usual, one thing will still remain the same - our mango drive!

If you love mangoes, here is your chance to indulge in fresh juicy North Queensland ‘Kensington Pride’ mangoes direct from the farm whilst supporting The Australian Boys Choir.

Each tray of mangoes weighs approx 7kg - the number of mangoes in a tray depends on the size of the mangoes (usually 14-20 in each tray). Trays are only $29.50 (plus 50 cents Trybooking fee) which represents great value.

HOW TO ORDER

Orders closed on Wednesday 28th October 2020.

WHEN DO I PICK THEM UP

We expect delivery to be in approximately the first week of December 2020, but we will notify purchasers in mid-November when delivery dates are confirmed.

Pick up is from Choir House in Hawthorn only.

WHAT TO DO WITH THIS MANY MANGOS?

Try making Helen's mango chutney. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us, it sounds delicious!

Helen Webb's Mango Chutney

Mix 8-10 mangoes and 4-5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped.
Sprinkle with 3 teaspoons salt and leave in a bowl.

Meanwhile, soak 8 seeded large red chillies in 3 cups of malt vinegar for 10 mins.

Then remove, tie them together and combine with:
5 cloves garlic,
½ cup grated ginger,
1 tablespoon Garum Marsala (or Clive of India curry powder),
500gm white sugar,
slivered almonds,
12 cloves, and simmer uncovered for 15 mins.

Then add the mangoes, apples and 1 cup of sultanas, and simmer until thick.
I remove chillies and cloves after cooking if possible.

Pour into prepared jars, apply lids and leave until lids seal.

Label and enjoy!
