2019 SOUTH AUSTRALIA & VICTORIAN TOUR

Touring is one of the most exciting Choir experiences for our Performing Squad. It is the culmination of many years of musical training. It is also made possible through the development of independence and  ‘life skills’, as learnt through attending the Choir’s biannual Weekend workshops and residential Summer Schools each year.

Shorter than a Summer School but longer than some of our most recent regional tours, the itinerary featured no fewer than 5 performances in almost as many days.

Twenty-three of our singers performed to highly appreciative audiences in Adelaide, Mount Gambier & Warrnambool, also collaborating with Tenison Woods College and Young Adelaide Voices. A capacity crowd in Colac (not to mention some exceptional country hospitality!) saw the tour round out on exactly the right note.

In addition to these brief stops along the way, two slightly last-minute additions to the schedule were perhaps most memorable of all: a pop-up performance in the impressive Naracoorte Caves, plus a diversion down the Great Ocean Road to take advantage of that all important photo opportunity at The Twelve Apostles.

Thanks to Rachel Jones & Liz Lindner (tour caring team), Tim Mallis (accompanist) and Christal Paul (tour team leader) for their efforts in making this the successful and worthwhile expedition that it was. Thanks also to our Stagewear Team Leaders, Pam Carrasco and Antoinette Pearse, for ensuring that the boys looked so professional in their reds whilst performing.
