PRAGUE - 2ND DAY

Today’s blogging comes from Vikram and Johannes of Purple colour group.
For more recent tour updates, follow the Australian Boys Choir Facebook page or instagram account, which are both updated more frequently on-the-go.

After an early morning the choir went to the Nad Kavalírkou Grammar School to and met the Besharmonie Choir for a workshop and shared performances. The Besharmonie choir is mostly comprised of students from the Jaroslava Heyrovského and Nad Kavalírkou schools (or ‘Gymnázia’ as they are called in Czech). It was an enjoyable time for both choirs as we all got to share songs with each other as well as our culture. The Besharmonie choir sang songs in Czech as well as in English so we could understand, which was good. Unfortunately we did not have any Czech songs for them, but we did sing an Australian classic, Waltzing Matilda. A memorable experience for both choirs was the Besharmonie choir teaching us a Czech song – although our pronunciation was not great! It was a nice surprise when the conductor of the Besharmonie choir attended our concert in St Nicholas’s Church with some of his students later in the day.

Today, we performed at St. Nicholas church. We finally got to perform in our reds! The audience was not as large as the one in St Thomas church but it was still ‘masssive’ and there were people filling up almost all of the seats. Now that we’ve performed three times already, we were much more confident. I thought we performed much better. It was incredible that on my first tour. the choir received a standing ovation.
