Declan, when did your involvement with the ABCI begin?
I began Choir in 2010 singing in Probationers.

Which levels do you currently work with?
I work as a tutor for Tyros and a senior tutor for Cambiata. I personally like working with the young men in Cambiata as we get to develop and explore their new lower voices and enable them to continue their musical careers.

What are your views of the ABCI?
I think the Institute is an incredible place for boys to find like-minded friends and gives them life changing opportunities that many people never get to experience, such as touring and performing in incredible venues.

What do you do when you're not working at the ABCI?
When I’m not at Choir, I am studying my Bachelor of Music. I also enjoy playing and watching sports.

What is your advice to budding singers?
My advice for upcoming singers is to PRACTICE. I know it sounds repetitive, but even if you just get in a few minutes a day, skills and songs become so much easier to read and sing. You can then push further and look at songs with a deeper lens rather than just what is written on the page.
