EUROPE 2018 – DAY 8
27 September 2018SALZBURG SOUND OF MUSIC
Today’s blogging comes from the Orange colour group.

We started today with another great buffet breakfast before heading off on the Sound of Music tour around Salzburg. It was great to see some of the sights from the film including the glass gazebo, an amazing giant lake and green hills, and a huge church from the end of the film. Everyone was singing songs from the film again.
After the tour we stopped back at the hotel for lunch and had more delicious schnitzel. We changed into our reds and then walked into the city to the Salzburg Cathedral for a quick performance. The cathedral was an incredible enormous building with beautiful details in its high arches and dome. It was an amazing place to sing.
Next stopped by Mozart’s house for a group photo, then got to spend some time shopping in the streets nearby. There were lots of shirts and signs saying ‘no kangaroos in Austria’ which was funny.
After heading back to the hotel for dinner, we headed out again to go and see a string quartet play (the Mozart Quartet Salzburg). They were playing in an incredible palace building with marble and gold walls. They were really good but everyone was very tired so we had to go home at the interval (editor’s note: and sadly missed the final piece, ‘Einer kleiner nachtmusik’!)
